The Organisations level is a powerful feature of Cervinodata, because it enables smart grouping of accounts. For instance by Brand or by country office, or another creative way to group your accounts across platforms on a meta-level.
You can also create your own organisations, for instance to group a number of accounts from multiple platforms belonging to one brand or group all the Adwords accounts of one of your international clients together. You can then use this grouping in BigQuery to make your SQL statements a lot simpler.
When you create an organisation yourself (you can do this here ), for instance "Brand X", the accounts you connect to Brand X will transfer from the Default Organisation to Brand X. The mutations will be reflected on the next sync with BigQuery. You can then use the Organisation ID (in the Customer table in BigQuery) to select all the accounts of that organisation without having to type all the accounts ID's.
If you delete an organisation you created (i.e. Brand X), all the accounts connected to Brand X will be transferred back to the Default Organisation. The mutations will be reflected on the next sync with BigQuery.
- Please note that queries results you created in BigQuery based on the Organisation ID, will now be empty, because this organisation does not exist any more and therefore does not contain any accounts or data.
Switching Accounts within Organisations
It is possible to to switch Accounts from One organisation to another, for instance if you first grouped your accounts by Brand, but decide to change the grouping to Country Office instead. Just create some new organisations and select the right Organisation from the dropdown in the Accounts overview table.
- Please note that when you switch an account to another organisation, any query in BigQuery based on Organisation ID, will now exclude any accounts that you moved to another organisation.
What does "Default Organisation" mean?
This default organisation is simply a way for us to organise the data in our systems. When you register for Cervinodata, a "Default Organisation" is automatically created and connected to your user profile. All the accounts from the platforms you have give access to are automatically connected to this Default Organisation.
